Art Imitates Art . com

Art Imitates Art is about art and aesthetics and their immediate influences. This site is half theory and half practice. In the articles/blog section I'll relate artistic concepts to as wide an array of topics as possible. The rest of the site will be a showcase of my work, and the art of my friends and relatives. You'll see 2d and 3d computer art here, as well as pottery, animations, tattoo designs, writing, traditional artwork (watercolour paintings mostly), animations, and even a bit of cooking - mostly the presentational, aesthetic side of cooking.

The only criteria I have when it comes to hosting an artist's work - besides whether I like the piece or not - is that the artist has to explain, in some detail, what lead directly to their work. Was it inspiration from another artist? Was it a series of roughs that gradually transformed into the finished piece? Was it stream of thought? Was it one or more happy accidents? It's these kinds of things I'm looking to explore here.

At the moment this site is a work in progress, but check back soon; I'll be making daily additions to the site and prettying it up gradually to get it in shape. All works hosted on Art Imitates Art are the property of their creators.
